Trim Showing up on Temp Guage

So I have a 1989 thompson carrera that when I trim the motor down the temperature gauge rises. Have looked at all connections and they look good.

What does the trim gauge do when that happens? Also does the temp gauge have an affect on the trim gauge? Any other gauges having an affect on one another?

Their sender wires could be shorted together . . .
