trim switch doesent work intermitently

i went down to raise the trim and i hear click,click,click really fast and it moved then stopped? what is up with that ? now it wont make any noise and wont do anything? i dont know where to start? i have an Stingray 20 ft bowrider with a 4.3 Mercruiser engine and alpha1 out drive and it is stuck wont go up or down and i gotta get it out of the lake before they drain it for winter

Winter? WTH? That's sick!!

Jumper across the two big TRIM solenoid studs (3/8 I think it is) w a jumper cable/screw driver/beer can, etc., if ya got power and the trim motor is good, it'll make noise.......errrr, move up or down depending on which trim solenoid. It'll arc just a tad of course

Start with a full charged battery and good, clean connections at all points.
