Trim Switch

i have a Tracker Pro17 with a 40hp.

?1 the trim switch on the shifter is not working properly.. it will trim the motor up but not down.. the bow and motor switches will trim the motor up and down.. the problem in the shifter switch or connection somewhere??

?2 the tach is not working either.. where do i start on locating the problem here..

You can check the switch with an ohm meter. To check the tach. hook a volt meter in series with the gray tach. wire coming from the control box to ground, you should have at least 9 volts. If not, check the charging system.

thanks guys for the help.. i posted this in the wrong forum though.. its a mariner motor.. sorry..
