trim tab anode

I bought a new set of anodes for my outdrive and noticed that the old trim tab has a tail and the new one is basically flat. it was my understanding that this tail will affect your steering? do i need to order another trim tab that has a tail?

Does your boat have power steering?

What engine package/Year do you have in your boat?

Some times the torque of the prop will make a boat try to "pull" one way. The little tail helps compinsate for that. It can be adjusted by rotating the whole annode.

its a 2000 reneill with the 3.0 mercruirser alpha 1 gen 2 and non powersteering.
