I am new to boating. I have a old Bayliner Inboard. I don't have a trim tab anoid. Do I need one and what does it do?
Sorry if this is a dumb question

Re: trim tab anoid

Inboards usually have zincs/anodes on the shafts. They also put them on the trim tabs.
There should also be a BIG one on the transom, grounded to the drain plug and both motors.
Yes you should install them.
They are sacrifical anodes, they deterioate instead of the shafts, props and trim tabs.
With out them you will eventually need to replace the shafts, props, struts, tabs.
