I have a 22 foot inboard/outboard with Bennet trim tabs. They have no controls to operate them, and no way to adjust them for trim. Has anyone had any experience with this style of "smart tabs"???
I also have a set of
Electric Lenco brand I am trying to decide which will offer me the best in performance.
Thanks
David

Smart tabs do okay, but adjustments are limited. Are you sure they're Bennetts, as most Bennetts are hydraulic with a double switch on the dash to make adjustments?

Lenco are electrically operated trim tabs, and fully adjustable.

Bennett hydraulic trim tabs were the best thing ever put on my inboard-outboard boat. Benefits are:
1. I could plane it off at 10 mph when doing a slow cruise.
2. Two fat women sitting on one side would make the boat lean, and I could level the boat laterally.
3. When cruising down the lake, if I ran up on a big wave, I would tuck the boat nose down in a second or two, plow through the wave, and raise my boat's nose up--quickly back up to speed.
4. My boat ran like it had 50 hp more when using the tabs to pull a skier out of the water.
5. Adjustable trim tabs will make your boat ride like it's 5' longer, with slight adjustments.

It's a no brainer.

Re: trim tab ??

David,

Do you know how old the Trim Tabs are on your boat and what size they are?

We do make Self Leveling Trim Tabs (SLTs) but they are a new product and we recommend them for boats up to 20 feet.

As Bamaman1 points out the majority of our products and what we would recommend for a boat your size are remotely adjustable hydraulic systems.

Do you have a picture of them?
