Trim tabs reversed?

I have 2 joystick switches for my trim tabs on my 1999 Pursuit 2470cc. The controls seem to do the opposite effect. ie Bow down pushes the bow up. The controls control the respective sides.<br />ie Port side control moves port side tab.<br /> Pressing Bow Down-the tab moves away from the hull.<br />I was thinking of just reversing the controls.<br />Any input about trim tabs and the respective sides they control.<br />Michael

The stbd control should operate the port tab and visa versa. The theory is when pushing the starboard control fwd, the port tab drops to lower the stbd bow.<br />Each control should operate the oposite tab. control fwd, tab down...control rearward, tab up.

The only other trim tabs I have seen are the 4 button ones 2 over 2. On my Grady I needed to hit one for either bow down or bow up position.<br />Any input. <br />From the 1st post, I realize that the tabs are reversed.<br /><br />But thanks,<br />Michael

When you push "Bow Down" the tab should move away from the hull. Bennett prefers the port switch control the stbd. tab, while the stbd. switch controls the port tab.

Mike F is on target but you can do like RatFish says, mount them the way you like. From your description its sounds like the control was put in upsidedown and simply turning it around would make it work as per our instructions.<br /><br />Tom McGow<br />Bennett Marine
