Hi.
I need some information on setting up trimtabs.

I got given the tabs and hydraulic pistons and all screws bolts etc but no pump or switch.,
What would i need to get this working. i did research for the pumps and they are $300?

is there a cheaper solution to this?

cheers

Can you give us a little more info on the tabs and boat? Let's start with determining whether these tabs are appropriate for your hull and go from there. Pics maybe.

Hi.
Thanks for the reply.
The tabs are at home at the moment but i did check them lastnight and cant find any information, labels or stamps on them for model or make.

My boat is a 21ft fibreglass halfcab with a 235hp on the back.

Have you tried "Fleabay"? That's where I got my "not so new" Bennett pump, wiring and switch for a "C" note. You'll need hose and fittings, too, so it can be done right.

If you provide a picture of the tabs and pistons, we can ID who makes them.

A zillion films on Youtube show you everything from planning, to installing, to filling the pump properly. Also, Bennet website has a ton of videos on installing and fixing problems.

The other posters are spot on, we need to see the Tabs and Actuators (rams) to determine the make of them. You likely can find a pump on E-bay and if they are Bennett I might be able to help with small parts.

So post photos if you can and I will be delighted to help.

????????????????????????????????????? Hmm, Joined on 2011 and this is 1st post?

If you read the responses, you'll see the responses aren't trying to sell anything. Nada. Zip.

Just a friendly suggestion. Please take a few minutes to actually learn who Tom McGow (AKA:Tabman) is, and how many boaters w/ Bennett Tab problems he has helped with common sense advise and (sometimes not so small) Bennett parts for FREE? I know first hand, as I was one of those he has helped.

Edit: My edit was regarding post #6 ONLY, which was trying to sell tabs. I well know who Tom is, one of my favorite members. If you have any other questions please PM me. You got this one wrong ;)

Edit 2: I am starting to understand what you got wrong. I am QC, not the member who has one post. I am the one who edited his post, and this post. I also have a post in this thread (#2).

Edit 3: Did not know post was edited by QC / Moderator. Suggestion, as seen on other sites. When a post is edited by a moderator / QC, a note at beginning of edit states "Edited by QC / Moderator", or something to that nature, to eliminate confusion. On my part, won't happen again.
