Took the boat out yesterday for first time this season. Needle in trim tilt gauge bounced back and forth from one side to the other without stopping! Where do you suggest I start looking? Boat is an '86 Four Winns 190 Horizon 4.3l V6 w/cobra outdrive.

Thanks

look for the rheostat on the outdrive. That is where I would start, from there trace the wiring through to the gauge; could be a ground issue.

I had the same problem on my Cobra. It was corrosion in the plug where it plugs together behind the engine.
its a flat 2 wire plug where the wires come thru the transom..
I hope its that simple...8)

Thanks, I'll start with that and see where it gets me.
