I have a 1996 Sea Ray 240BR, Mercruiser 7.4L, Bravo Outdrive. I need to replace the trim/tilt lines from pump to hydraulic manifold. They are leaking fluid into boat. How is this done?

I have seen the schematic of the outdrive and I have disconnected the manifold from outdrive, now I need to figure out how to replace hoses. Been told that engine has to be pulled in order to do. This seems ridiculous to have to spend $1K to replace hundred dolllar hoses, recommendations please.

Your statement indicates you removed the manifold on the drive, the lines are connected to it, what problems are you running into? I'm sure space is an issue, but you should be able to pull the manifold down lower enough to disconnect the lines.

I haven't disconnected the line yet and yes it is very tight. I believe I would need to disconnect all tie wraps hold the hose to allow free mobility. Not sure if there are any clamped areas inside transom that would prevent removing the hoses. Can I connect the old hose to the new hose as to ensure the path correctly up from the bottom of transom? I realize it going to be painful and slow, would like to know of any trade tricks. Thanks for any info.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,.... That Is the trick of the trade,.... Do each hose, Individually, in case they don't run together all the way,....

'n btw,... It's the Boat Builders, not so much Mercruiser, that makes 'em hard to work on,.........
