trim/tilt motor 1977 Chrysler 135

I am trying to install a new trim/tilt motor on to a new trim pump. My problem is I cant get it to line up correctly ( the motor to the pump) is there a trick to this? it is the last step in my motor revival and it makes me want to punch myself in the face HAHAHAHA!

Check your post in the morning bob880. Jerry or Nordin will have your answer. I haven't got into these pumps yet but, I'll learn from your post.

There is an extension for some armature shafts.
Did you get both parts from the same place?
Measure the shaft and the pump and see how much difference there is??

I did get them from the same place. However, they did't give me the correct motor. I got a new motor this morning and in 30 seconds I was back in the game. Thank you for your help. She is almost ready for the water. I just have to work on the trailer a bit lights, tires, bearings and new bunks.

How do you wire these 2 wire trim motors. I have two starter solenoids and a trim switch. Just don’t know how to wire them correctly. Works perfect from the battery.

The 2 wire motors used relays and a special harness.
The 12-14 gauge wires that are in the harness(late model) aren't strong enough to run the motor as the distance can cause them to get hotter than they should.
Run another newer style harness or 2 heavier wires.
You'll need a HEAVY 3 pole switch.
Center is hot, the blue/green from the motor goes to the other 2
