I have noticed on the tilt cylinder that it is oozing from the top seal. The boat is run in salt water for 4 months a year and is kept in the water for that time. The T&T motor is showing some rust breaking through the paint also. It all works fine just leaking and I have had to fill it up a few times. Can I just get by with replacing the seal or is it time to replace the whole T&T unit. I should have shot a picture this past weekend.

Gordon, My '98 Johnny 150HPV6 had exacty the same issue. I bought a seal kit for $50-60 and installed new Oring and wiper in the trim cylinder, and a a couple of new Orings on the piston and cap of the trim cylinder. It now works perfectly. You will likely need a spanner to remove the trim cylinder cap. I made one from two pieces of angle iron and some bolts that just fit the holes in the trim cylinder cap.

Great! That is what I wanted to hear. 50 to 60 is way better than 800 to 900 for a new unit. I'll probably live with it until this fall when the boat comes out then do the repair. Spanner wrenches are no problem, I have plenty and have made plenty. Thanks for the info.
