trim/tilt removal

I;m having a hell of a time getting this unit off. I got the genuine yamaha service manual[ got good pictures ] I follow the manual instructions still can't get it off. what am doing wrong?is there any tricks to getting this thing off.91/90hp yamaha tlrp

Not much info except you have a problem. You will need to pull the motor off the boat to easiest remove the trim unit.

mr ray. you mean to say i have unbolt the outboard from the transom lift it up to remove the unit. Dann

Easiest way. Then after removing a clamp bracket you can get to everything.
Gets awfully close to work.
