BRIANBAN, Sounds like it migh have some air in the system, or a little low on oil. Get your manual out and go thru the proceedure on adding oil. Its a simple job then bleed off the air. If you don't have a manual get one in the mean time use search and look up trim filling or servicing trim, ect.
steve

I would change the oil in it, sounds like you might have some water in it or air, just drain it and refill, should solve your problem. (By the way welcome to the forum)

I just experienced a similar problem. Suggestions were that there is binding at the engine pivot point, try loosening the nut on the pivot. That didn't help on my engine. I charged my batteries and my problem went away. I'm not sure that there is any connection but it's working.
Good luck.
