My Friend has my boat in the water and after a week of functioning properly he reports the Trim Tilt stopped working

What I know:
My Friend is not mechanically inclined at all unfortunately
My boat is in NY where I cant get to it :(

The thumb control on the control arm apparently does not cause any noise at all
He says that the 50Amp Breaker on the front left of the engine is not tripped.
The control arm assembly was taken apart earlier this year for a shift cable adjustment (possibly pinched a wire)?

My friend says he took the 2 screws under the handle off and was able to verify that the 3 wires (green blue and red) coming from the switch "looked" intact
Earlier in the week he states the button on the control arm that allows revving in neutral for cold starts didn't disengage properly after the boat was warmed up and he had difficulty getting it into forward or reverse for a moment.

Hopefully not too much information. Any assistance is appreciated

One of you will have to do a little troubleshooting work. Normally with a trim system not working at all, I'd suggest jumping the green and blue wires at the pump directly to the battery and verify the pump/motor works properly. Not at the same time of course. But if you have a feeling the problem is in the control arm and your friend has access to the wiring, manually jumping the red to blue then green should confirm if the trim switch is the problem or not.

Thank you for the reply, The issue was indeed a chaffed wire in the control arm that grounded out. Thanks again
