I have a 1989 Johnson 120hp motor Serial # J120TLAEM that I am trying to find a remote trim & tilt switch for.
The trim & tilt swith that I speak of, fits in the lower part of the engine cover, so you can operate the trim from the motor, insted of the switch located on the throtle handle.
I can not even find it in the parts catologe.
Any help would be Great.
Thanks,
Phillip H

Re: Trim & Tilt Switch lower engine cover

Looking at the diagram for the Lower Engine Cover, I don't see any reference to a place for a switch. Does your motor have a switch that you're trying to find a replacement for? ... or are you proposing to cut a hole in the cover and retro-fit something that would work in parallel with your regular switch?

I know, that's what I was talking about.
My motor already has a factory installed switch mounted in the lower engine cover.
I can not find it anywhere. Like you said, it does not even show up in the diagrams, or the book.
Now what do I do?????

Check out part #585146 here ... http://www.maxrules.com/fixomctrim.html

Probably not the cheapest site, but at least you can see what it looks like, to compare to your old one!

Here's a picture to compare to your old one ...

Thats it!!!
I don't know how you found it, but thats the one.
Your right, that company is kinda steep on their prices.
Sure would like to find it a little cheeper, but if I can't, I sure know where to get it now, thanks to your help.
Thanks,
Phillip
