Trim/Tilt will not engage

I just bought this boat, runs great but trim was <br />empty of fluid. After filling resevour, relay clicks and motor runs but outboard still not lifting. Any suggestions, thanks.<br />1984 Merc 850 85hp<br />S#4100751<br />Boat: 1984 Sport Craft 160 Sportsman

I think you may need to bleed the system, but a manual is the only way I know to follow...<br />However, that still may not be your problem... A tank doesn't just go empty, unless there is another problem, or someone was stupid enough to empty it....

Hey thanks kclost, I don't know why it was empty<br />but I finally got it filled and seems to be working fine now. I didn't find any leaks so hopefully it will be ok. Sure appreciate your input. I love this website and all you great people. Have a great day and I'm off to the lake!
