Trim / Tilt

I have a 1993 Evinrude 150 hp. The tilt recently began making a noise upon lowering it. The gauge now does not work in correspondence to the tilt amount. Is the fluid low? If so, where do I add?<br /><br />B

Really a question for the Outboard Engines section but since I am already typing.... <br /><br />The spot to add fluid is the plug on the lift unit. It is the same size as the plugs for your lower unit. If the guage and the trim do not correspond try to use some PB Buster or WD 40 on the sending unit. It is located on the end of the pin that the engine tilts on. On occasion they get hung up and do not follow the guage.<br /><br />Good luck, buy the manual for your motor!<br /><br />Bob
