trim troubles

115 Mercury 1995, Went fishing on Saturday and noticed my remote trim/tilt did not work. The switch on the motor did. When I got home with the boat the remote trim worked again and then on sunday it worked fine then when put in the water it was a no go again. What can be causing the remote to not work but the switch on the motor to work fine, it seems to work out of the water but not while in the water. My wife would really like me to get this fixed as she hates holding on to the engine adjusting trim while I am doing 45. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you..

There's probably a loose wire somewhere. A few days ago my power trim was dead...I was quite worried because I can't get the boat out of the water without it. After a few hours of searching while on the river I found a wire that came off when I took a turn too hard.
