Trim up wont work

I have a 1999 Volvo penta 5.0gl with the SX outdrive. My trim up has stopped working. Down works fine. You can hear and feel the down silinoid clicking. When it started acting up last year...I could tap the siliniod and that usually fixed it. At least for the day. I ordered a new silinoid and installed (yes it's the right one). It still clicks and doesn't do anything else. However, it will very rearly kick in and go up. Help!

Sounds like a bad switch not a bad solenoid. I'm no help at troubleshooting in fact my switch stopped working Friday so I'll follow along.

Update! After fiddling with it if I trim it down which works fine and immediately flip the switch to trim up it will work however if you delay it will not. This is the same with both the switch on the throttle and the one on the stern. I'm not exactly sure what that means but it's got to mean something lol!

Just checked mine, no such luck. Mines a merc outboard tho...

A motor reversing relay pack relies on the opposite directions relays normally closed contacts as well. Try replacing the other relay too.
