Trim working intermittently

1995 Maxum with 4.3 Mercruiser/ Alpha one gen 2.
Serviced all the switches and all was well , but now the trim tilt will work strong for a few cycles then begin to slow and ultimately just click after about 2-5 min of operation. Any thoughts?

motor brushes or corroded connections

works strong then doesnt , same pattern, so im thinking not connections, motor heats up, then when cools down works again, is this a sign of a motor going bad ?

motor does same thing when solenoids are bybassed. so i guess its the motor

With trim motor out and under no load it works endlessly with 12v. Does this mean motor is good? does it matter that its now under no load?

ok now while bench testing it runs but gets slower and weaker sounding after 15 20 seconds, then with load( vice grips clamped to it ) it sounds sick. So Definately Motor! RIGHT? im 99.99% sure the motor is shot!
