Just bought a used boat with a Volvo 5.8. When at idle or neutral the trim seems to work great, however when I am running across the lake at any speed the trim doesn't seem to be working. I/E the gauge wont move, but i can see the amps drop and the is no change in the stance of the boat. How come?

Ok I pulled the numbers off the out drive last night. It is an SX cobra or SX-c1

I called my local volvo dealer and right off the bat they wanted to sell me a trim motor. Go figure. Any ideas short of that?

Ayuh,.... Is it Full of oil,..??

Insteada lookin' at the Gauge, stop, 'n look at the Drive....

I just pulled a manual off the internet and found where to check the oil. I am going to check it this weekend when I go bring it home from storage. Thanks. when I make sure its full if I have time I am going to put it in the water and check it visually for lift.
