Does anyone have experience with using trim tabs on there boat and if so do they reduce the amount of bow lift?

We have representatives who are forum members that will chime in.

It would probably help if you mention what kind of boat? Hull? Power? You could be asking about a rowboat or a 50' Cruiser....... iboats people are terrible at guessing ;)

yes they work well. On third boat with them, alogh current boat doesn't really 'need' them for bow lift or assistance in planing just mainly when in a crosswind. That and when we get in a stiff chop I nose down quite a bit, slow down and cut thru much more smoothly.

They are Bennetts, and tabman is awesome at helping you choose, place and install.

One of the nicest features to have on a boat. Bennett is an excellent choice.

limits bow rise, cures listing issues, on plane quicker - all great benefits

I love my tabs. You can put the bow down in rough weather and lessen the beating, you can also correct list on the boat while under way, you can also use them to get on plain faster, the list goes on and on. I was clueless as to what the value was a few years ago, now I would never own a boat without them.

Added the 12x16 Sport tabs to my 2550 SX and it' a whole different boat while underway, even at headway speeds. Best investment I've made for the boat. Period.

Re: Trims Tabs

Hydraulic trim tabs are real nice on a stern-heavy boat or underpowered boats, such as an I/O. They were great on my 18' SeaRay/Mercruiser They are less useful on an OB powered boat, like my 21 Seaswirl with OB power, but still useful. My 21 footer is kinda nose heavy, compared to the SR, hence the less need for them.

I used them mostly for rough days in the ocean. Drop the tabs down and you can back off the throttle and go slower, still staying on plane. Makes for a smoother ride. Also helps plane the boat with 8 people or less people and someone on skiis or a tube.
