I have a 96 pro v and i would like to know if my 24v series should be charging from my 70hp yamaha or do I need some sort of amplifier to do so. there is wires coming from the back but I am not sure how to wire correctly.

Re: trolling motor battery charging

Check your motors owner's manual to check your DC output...I'm thinking it is 12 volt. I would be a little cautious about adding a transformer to bump it up to 24v, however.

Re: trolling motor battery charging

Your Yamaha's electrial system is 12 volt, and is designed to maintain the main 12 Volt starting Bat. I assume you have a 24 Volt trolling Mtr. Install an on board charger, and recharge after you dock. Keep it simple.
