have a 16ft.starcraft aluminum open bow and am going to install a bow mount trolling motor (12 volt, 45 or 55 lb. thrust). battery in back. what cable size should i use to run from the back to the trolling motor?
8 gauge minimum, 6 gauge preferred for the 55#, 8 gauge is fine for the 45#. 45# motor is a little small for a 16 foot boat but that depends on what type of 16 footer you have.
