Re: Trolling motor help

Spring must be here. Everyone getting ready for fishing and they forgot to label the wires again. You need to be a little more specific as to what these two batteries are for. Is one is for the trolling motor and one for the engine???? Or are both of them for the trolling motor. I will assume you have a 24 volt trolling motor so here ya go. Print the picture and paste it somewhere in the boat. One set of outputs from the charger go to each battery. PAY ATTENTION TO POS AND NEG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you DO NOT have a 24 volt trolling motor none of this applies.

Re: Trolling motor help

Once again, this information would have been helpful in the first post. Your boat is wired for motors that can be run on 12 volt, 24 volt, or on either 12 or 24 volt. The orange wire in your harness would TYPICALLY connect to the positive post on the battery at the left. I say TYPICALLY because some have the red and orange reversed. Only you can figure out whether the red wire is for 24 volts and the orange for 12 volts or vice versa. HOWEVER -- you did not say if you have a switch panel at the bow of the boat that has a RUN/CHARGE switch or something similar. That may impact wiring as well. Is your motor a 24 volt ONLY or does it have a switch on it that says 12/24? Yes - the charger wires POS and NEG go to the corresponding posts on each battery.
