I recently got a 1996 skeeter zx200c. The boat wasn't used for bass fishing often during the time the previous owner had it so the trolling motor was rarely used. It has a motorguide brute 750 12/24 trolling motor. It's weak, very weak and only works on 24V. There are 3 sets of wires that were hooked up to the Deep Cycle batteries besides the power/outboard/aux wires. 3 wires go through the rod box to the trolling motor and three others I can't seem to trace. Even hooked up like it was the trolling motor only works in 24V and even then it won't move me against any wind higher than 6-8mph which is a real problem in the Texas Panhandle. Any advice is appreciated!

:welcome: aboard th972043 to iboats...

You say the boat wasn't used for bass fishing, but the trolling motor doesn't work on the 12 volt setting. I would suspect wiring if the trolling motor was not used. So check, with a volt meter, to see what voltage is available at both the 12 volt setting and the 24 volt. And you can do that with the trolling motor running as well. That will load the circuit and offer a better idea of the wiring condition. Better yet is to check it being used in the water for the best trolling motor loading. If you read 12 volts and 24 volts respectfully, then you do have trolling motor problems. But if not then you have wiring issues or battery issues. JMHO!

Figured it out!! The boat was at one time wired for 36V. Also, it was wired through a factory Skeeter on board charger with breakers. That charger quit and they added a Minn Kota onboard charger but it still ran through the breakers in the old charger. Here's where the problem arose. The battery cables are labeled on the terminal ends. They were labeled wrong and couldn't determine that until we removed both chargers and took the wires out completely. The breakers also served as a loop to loop the two batteries and it ran 24V ONLY. Sorted all of that out and it seems to work much better. Thanks gm280 for all of the suggestions!

I also have a Mini Kota question. I just purchased a boat that has a 2005 Mini Kota Copilot bow mount. It does not have Ipilot feature for spot lock. Can Ipilot be added to this motor?

And you hijacked a thread also. Start your own thread because you have a totally separate issue and your question is not related to this thread. This is not like most internet forums where discussions go on forever and get hard to follow because the topic continually changes.
