trolling motor problems

Hi all,

My trolling motor doesn't seem to be working right. We just bought our first boat so we don't know a whole lot about it. My brother has boats and he tried to figure out what was wrong, but he couldn't figure it out either.

First, the pointing arrow wasn't turned in the direction it was going. Then we figured out that it turned around and around without any direction at all. We had no control at all. Don't know what part it is called....just the bottom part that has the prop attached to it.

Does anyone know what is going on?

Thanks,
Peke

Hey, Peke.

Welcome to iboats. :)

No. We don't know the make or model of your troller so we have no idea what is happening.

Give us some more info.

gmarkovic: Why is it you felt the need to hijack someone elses thread. Start your own please. Hijacking a thread makes it difficult to tell what has been covered and what has not. You don't need a special bracket. Use the $40 minnkota quick release plate and make whatever type of spacers you need to make the motor sit level on the bow of your boat. Use your imagination.

Re: trolling motor problems

Sorry about that!

Motor Guide Pro Series 4300. Prop says Machete II.

2003 Tracker Pro Crappie 175 is the boat.

Thanks!
