Hi Everyone
I am currently building a casting deck on my 1966 Starcraft 14' v hull and will be installing a bow mounted trolling motor. My question is I found a Minn Kota powerdrive 30# thrust trolling motor for a great price and was wandering if it will push my boat adequately.
Any feedback appreciated.
thanks

It will move it, but not very well.

Re: trolling motor question

If you fish mostly in a lake that should do fine, in a river with current still okay but may not be able to go upstream fast.

I have a 16' with a 55lb and it will pull the boat at 3 mph which replaced an old OMC 25 lb troller which got the job done so if you can get it cheap jump on it, if it doesn't do it for you you can always sell it for what you have in it and move up.

Thanks a lot for the reply's. I do usually only fish lakes, so I think I am going to buy it. Its a Minn Kota Powerdrive 30# foot controlled for only $75 and the guy says its in great condition.
thanks again.

Can't lose for $75, like I said, if you decide you don't like it you could sell it for $125 easy.

I have a 16' lowe with a 45 lb Minnkota-pulls it along OK-if the wind isn't too strong. I consider it borderline.
