I recently purchased a Lowe Silhouette 1900 deck boat for fishing and family outings. I bought 2 new batteries for the 24 volt system foe a trolling motor. There is a plug in receptacle on the bow to plug in the trolling motor. Now, in the battery compartment. there are 2 sets of wires, red, black, and red with a blue line, black with a blue line. Can anyone tell me how to connect these sets of wires for a 24 volt trolling motor? :confused:LoweBoat_2.jpgLoweBoat_3.jpgLoweBoat_4.jpg

Re: Trolling motor wiring

With used boat one can not assume anything. You will need to see how the wires are connected in the receptacle and then make sure you plug and receptacle match.

I may be wrong but my impression is that a 24v trolling motor only uses 2 wires. The 24 is achieved by how you tie the batteries together. You boat may be wired to send 24 to the TM and 12v to the lights and OB. Once again you can assume nothing with a used boat.

Red & black to one battery. Other pair to battery two. 12/24 srelection is done on the motor or in your case the proper plug and jumper strap is requird.
