Trolling Plate Compatibility

I recently purchased a 17' Larson that I plan to use for fishing and pulling tubes and other towables. I have only taken it out a few times, but it does not troll slow enough. I planned to install a trolling plate, but the one I planned to order (Hydro Troll) from Cabela's said it may not work with Volvo Penta outrdives where the exhaust exits through the cavitation plate. My boat has a '92 110 horse Volvo Penta I/O with a Volvo Penta outdrive, and the exhaust exits through the back of the cavitation plate. Happy Troller makes a trolling plate that says it will fit all Stern Drives, but it also mounts on the cavitation plate. I am wondering if this plate is compatible with my outdtive. Holes will have to be drilled in the hollow cav plate, and it is curved on top. Any info on this would be helpful. Thanks.
