Sounds like you do big lake fishing and need good 55 lb thrust or better. I would suggest in your case at least Minnkota 55lb 12 volt model with at least a good group 27 battery. 24 volt in your case with about 65 lb thrust would be better. I would also consider a 5-10 hp gas four cycle kicker or maybe even a 15 or 25 hp if you use planer boards. If your gonna do back trolling, make shure you use the appropriate trolling motor with splash guards on the transom.
