Howdy,

I just acquired a 1985 Boston Whaler 17 Montuak from my deceased fishing obsessesed uncle. I know absolutly nothing about boats but I have been attempting to learn as I go...

I have been told that the boat is in good shape. It has a 90hp Yammaha outboard engine (probably not original but certainly not brand new). The engine starts just fine and idles great. My problem is that the motor will only get to a little less than 1/2 throttle before it starts shaking and won't throttle any faster. If i back off the throttle it returns to normal. I play with the throttle when I am on the lake and every once in a while it will let me go full throttle and runs great. My uncle died about 2 years ago and I assume the boat has been sitting in storage for about that length of time.

Anybody have any good suggestions what may be the problem?

Just a question, but you are mixing oil with the gas. 50:1

Replaced last years gas.

Checked pee stream.

Serviced motor.

Squeez the fuel bulb while excellerating and see if that helps.

Run see foam through engine.
