Hey guys,

I am trying to do some work on my 2006 crestliner 1600.

I am attempting to remove the carpeted panel the speaker is on in order to remove the board underneath it.

I have removed all visible screws but the thing won't budge...

Do you think I have to remove the rivetted on transom braces? If so that's a pretty silly design ...

Thanks in advance.

boats are put together to last about 10-15 years then fall apart so you buy a new one.

the panel was probably put in before the gunwale top was riveted in.

you may have to break it out, then remake it and get creative on the reinstallation.

Take the speaker off and peek inside the hole for more screws. The carpet may have to be pulled off.

I drilled out a bunch of rivets on my boat to replace carpet and such. NO biggie , just take either a 1/8 " or 3/16 bit and drill out the middle of the head depending on what sized rivets are in there and you can knock them out or drill them all the way out. Doesn't take long. Rivets and their guns are fairly cheap and if you plan on doing much work on your boat you will want to get these things anyway.
