bought a used 2004 Glastron with a Volvo Penta at the beginning of the summer. Has run great all year but this past weekend, we started having trouble with it starting - first as we were launching (took a few tries to get it to fire), then out on the lake (had started and restarted a few times while out... just about to fire up to pull the kids on a tube and it wouldn't start). The engine cranks a few times then nothing.
It runs great otherwise.. no problems pulling a skiier/wakeboarder/tuber. No acceleration issues, doesn't cough or sputter when "punching" it.

Scheduled to take it in tomorrow to have it looked out, thoughts on what the problem might be?

Re: Trouble Starting

We need a lot more information on what the engine is. Volvo makes lots of different ones. Full model number or serial number would be best, but even knowing if it is carbed or fuel injected would help a lot.

Re: Trouble Starting

No idea.. bought it at the beginning of summer, unsure if a tune up was done to start the year.

Re: Trouble Starting

since its new to you, here are the things that I would change immediately

Raw water impeller
fuel filter
distributor cap
rotor
plugs

it wouldnt hurt to change the wires either.

I would also do a drive service on it since you do not know the history.
