Ok it's a Bayliner with a 125 force I bought the boat and the power trim didn't work and the motor was down so we had to raise it to get it home. A friend and I muscled the motor up, got home and put it back down to check out the motor when we were finshed we were raising it back up and something popped now the motor goes up and down very east not like before at all. Come to find out one of the seals was bad in the upper part of the trim motor and it got water in it. But what did I do to it when I was raising it up. Should it be so easy to move. Maybe thats how it,s supposed to be and it was frose up before I don't know.

Perhaps you're right, Captiva.
It probably had frozen up, or got stiff from sitting. You may have broke the rust on the ram loose, and now, it's moving as it's supposed to move.

GOT THE SAME BOAT, QUESTION, ARE YOU LIFTING IT UP AND DOWN MANUALLY OR WITH ITS TRIM MOTOR.
IF MANUALY I THINK YOU BROKE A VALVE. I IMAGINE YOU SHOULD BE FEELING THE RESISTANCE OF THE CYLIDER PUSHING THE FLUID THRU THE GATE VALVE THAT DIRECTS IT UP OR DOWN.
THE MANUAL SHOWS A PLUG ON THE UNIT TO RELEASE THE MOTOR TO RAISE IT. ILL CHECK THE BOOK TOMORROW AND COMMENT MORE, TIME TO GO HOME.

I am lifting the motor up manually. What you said makes sence I had tons of resistance then it popped now nothing the motor moves with no resestance. Where is this valve located that I might have blown and can it be rebuilt. Thanks for any help.

Re: trouble with force 125 trim

HELLO, FIRST I'M A TOTAL NEWBIE, I HOPE MY MOTER WORKS AND THE TILT/TRIM MOTORS DO AS WELL SO I CAN SEE WHAT THEY DO,
LOOKING IN THE BOOK "SELOC" FORCE OUTBOARDS 84-99 REPAIR BOOK, THERE IS 18 PAGES OF VERY DETAILED TESTING AND ASSEMBLY, OTHER THAN A SET OF RELAYS THAT CONTROL THE MOTOR, THE CYLINDER IS THE CONTROL VALVE AND HAS TWO PISTON HEADS WITH ORINGS THAT GO UP/DOWN, HOPEFULLY YOU BROKE A ORING. I WOULD SUGGEST BUYING THE BOOK , GOT FROM IBOATS/ 32 BUCKS DELIVERED. IN TWO DAYS.
