today i took the boat out it ran fine, untill later
on then i could get no speed out of her.the revs would not go up at all.the squeeze bulb on the gas line would not stay firm.i also had some one pump it while i was driving it did not make a difference. it did this the last time i took it out to.would it be fuel pump, gas line or maybe it works ok on a full tank of gas and then when the tank is lower it will not suck it up.

It may be an ignition problem. Does it stall at idle?

Re: trouble with fuel i think

i changed the bulb on the gas line and also changed the gas lines that go to each carb they were cracked and i could tell they were leaking. now the bulb stays hard and the motor starts and ideals better.at slow speed it works fine but as soon as you give it gas it speeds up a little and then boggs down .if you back the throttle off a little it speeds up a little but you can not get any speed out of her.to me it seems like a car that is not getting enough gas.any ideas.

check your sparkplug coils. Had a similar problem with Yamaha 115hp. Turned out to be a bad coil.

i well check my manual and see if it says how to check the coils. i did disconnect the fuel line from the engine and then squeezed the primer bulb i could here it suck air a little from the check valve from the connection that hooks to the engine, also when i inseted a small screwb driver into the end of the line to open the check valve no gas game out and i had the primer bulb squeezed hard, but if i squeezed the bulb while i held the check valve open then gas came out is this normal?

Take your squirt can with premix in it and when the revs fall off, give the carbs a shot of fuel. If it picks up, you have a fuel delivery probleum. If not, it must be ignition.

c/6

Hooty
