Troubles with Contact Cement on Spar Varnish

Hi All,

I’m redoing a floor using contact cement on BCX coated with Spar Varnish on Nautolex Interwoven Cool. I’ve done this many times with Shark Gray nautolex. This time around I’m having issues. The main issue is with the contact cement dissolving the spar. I usually try to do a light coat of spar on top, but it got a little heavy. This lead to a lot of bubbling. I’ve ripped the vinyl back up. Question is can I just reapply a bunch of contact cement and try again? Pics below

I've never used those materials, but I'm confident in saying that you'll need to redo the varnish. If the contact cement has damaged it, then you've lost your water protection. I would suggest using a different adhesive.
