Re: Truck Tires Online
Check with TreadDepot.com, which is out of SE Atlanta. They're the warehouse for Kauffman Tires, a medium size chain of tire stores. I have bought 19 tires in the last 18 months, and have even received the tires overnight from them. Unfortunately, my tires are 18" high performance, 17" high performance and 16" 3/4 ton truck tires.
To get educated on tires, I use TireRack.com's website to read about the different tires. This business has changed over the years, as there must be 100 different sizes of tires. And you've got fleet truck tires, highway tires, mud tires, all terrain tires, LT tires, P passenger tires, 16", 17", 15". It's just ridiculous. And then you've got a dozen brands of tires to choose from--many of which are Chinese made tires. Even the second tier tires like Cooper Tire are very expensive tires. Tire Rack is a huge operation--good service.
I've got a couple of independent tire stores that'll mount and balance the new tires for $50 per set.
I had a E150 high line conversion van, but thankfully sold it about the time as I needed tire replacement. My experience with 2 sets of Firestone 16" LT OEM's were satisfactory, and I'm running Toyo's--a very good tire for a fair price. Bridgestones truck tires appear very good for your use, but are pricey. Hankook's on my Civic SI were pretty poor wearing tires. I'm impressed with the newest Kumho's on my Lexus IS, which are far, far better than the Eagle GT Goodyears. Michelin's priced me out of their market--many models are not worth the price.
Good luck!
