i have a 1958 johnson 35 outboard i bought for almost nothing, in awesome shape (good compression, no rust). the model number is RDE 19 C the carburetor is missing the slow and high speed needles. i cant find a new/used original carburetor (in working condition). and i prefer not to try to find all the parts like the needles and surrounding parts. is there any newer carburetor that will work with the motor, for a low cost. also trying to find a water pump impeller (just the impeller i don't need the housing). thanks!

Those were pretty popular motors. I would expect you can get parts at a salvage yard. There is a sticky with some salvage yard listings on this site. Ebay is another possible source..

You might tell us your location.

Don't know where you are at, but look on Craigslist for Columbus Ohio. There's a guy that has lots of parts for older motors you can email him to see if he had them. If he has them I can pick them up and send them to you.

Hey No4h -- that eBay listing (not mine) has the full needle assemblies for the '58, plus knobs. Get a rebuild kit for it, or for parts.

appears to be pretty complete.

No such animal as a '56 Lark 40. The '56 would be a 30hp. Lark 40 carb needles will be much shorter, and depending on the year, may not even have a high speed needle valve.
