I need the hand operated speed control unit for a 2000 Motorguide 46 lb Hyperdrive/Energy 12 volt trolling motor. Bass Pro shop no longer carries this models parts. Thanks in advance! :)

Where able to obtain the part number you're in need of?

Do you have the model number of your 2000 Motorguide 46 lb thrust motor?

You should be able to find a parts diagram online if you search the model number online. If not, post the number/s you have to see if it helps any.

There isn't a serial number tag on this motor...the closest thing to a model number is ET40. I will take it apart to see if there is a number on the part but unless someone knows a place to order parts from it won't matter much. :(

I do know of two online places that offer a parts catalog for the Motorguide but either one isn't showing ET 40 But there is a ET 49 and a bunch of other numbers that are within the range between ET 22 & ET 54. Are you sure the number is really 40 ?

My bad...the sticker is a bit wrinkled...looks like an ET 46 which makes more sense since it has 46 lb of thrust.

I think I found what I need on **********. They seem to carry the part I need which is the complete handle assembly. A bit pricey at almost $79.

For some reason this site blanked out an iboats vendor competitor.

Well cool at least you where able to find what you needed.. Just for reference, what is the part number you are in need of?

PS, most of the online competitive vendor names to iboats are automatically blanked out like that.. $$$..

And rightfully so. IBoats provides the resources for this forum. Why should it be used to steer business to other competitors. Sort of like bringing your own oil and filter to a quick lube place. They will obviously use it but you will likely pay for their stuff as well.

Apparently I will need to take the outer cowl off in hopes of finding any kind of part or serial number but I am not a Motor Guide fan so I will just use it as is....As you turn the handle to select speeds and direction it is very vague (no clicks) and will even turn 360 degrees. I will save my money for a Minn Kota.
