Hi There,
I have had a 1973 Crestliner with a 165 mercrusier with a pre Alpha OD given to me and am in the process of fixing a mulitude of issues. I could use some help with the following problems;
1:Quite a bit of water leakage from below manifold ?
2:Wetness around 2nd from rear spark plug ?
3:Beleive it or not although the engine runs (I am sure it at least needs a tune up which I will do) now engine quits when put into forward (interrupter or cable issue)?
There is no water in the engine oil and she starts first try. I will be checking compression. Just replaced impeller. This boat is a classy looking old unit and deserves better than she has seen in the last decade but I am wondering what I am getting into. An engine rebuild might be too much for the old girl (and me). Thanks for your help in advance.
