Hi everyone. My Penta 270 outdrive on my 4 cylinder Volvo died. I found another 270 on another 4 cylinder Volvo, but I want to make sure it is a match before I pick it up and have it put on. How do I match the two up to make sure it is a usable part on my boat? It is too old to show up on the Volvo/Penta serial number search engine. I assume I have to make sure it is power trim. I think I am okay with gear ratio because they are both on a 4 cylinder Volvo. What else do I need to know?

Thanks ahead of time!

Power trim was rare in the older 270's. What year and model engine/boat are you working on?

Welcome, Btw.

Thanks for the welcome! I appreciate the input.

The boat is a 1983 Bayliner Trophy with a Volvo 4 banger. I think it's an AQ125A for the Volvo model, but I need to verify.
