Trying to R&R Alpha one exhaust bellows

I am trying to remove and replace the exhaust bellows on my 1986 Se Ray Seville -- 3.7 merc 170 with Alpha one outdrive. I can't seem to reach the screw for the clamp on the side nearest the transom (got the other one easily). Do I have to take the outdrive apart to get to the clamp or is there an easier way?

If it was installed properly you should find a access hole on the left side of the housing and using LONG screwdriver access the clamp

Great. I saw that hole, but couldn't tell what it was for. I will check it out as soon as it is light out.
