Tub drain overflow gasket leaks...

Hey Guys...

I just replaced the tub drain and now when the tub is overfilled past the bottom of the cover plate, water runs through the cover plate and down the exterior of the tub instead of into the overflow. There is a rubber gasket between the flange for the overflow tube and the exterior of the tub but it obviously doesn't seal very well. Any suggestions?

Remove it. Clean and dry it. Apply a coat of silicone.

Make sure The outer overflow gasget seal is installed right, You may have it up-side down the thinest part of the gasget goes up it's about 5/16 at the top and little over 1/2in at the bottom.
