hi all, im considering useing one of the tube sealers that you pour inside your tubes via the inflation valve(once removed) and then tummble the boat to spread the sealer, has anyone used/had any experience with these type of sealers, ie are they a short or long term product, was it successfull or not any feed back would be great thanks aj

The stuff is great. I used the latex sealer. I had to use a straw and tiny funnel to get it past my HR valves. Just follow the instructions. My boat is holding air great now.

FWIW I believe you're supposed to remove the valves before pouring the stuff into the tubes. Your call of course. Good luck and welcome aboard.

You are so correct. Removing the valves is the best way. At the time I did not have a tool to take off my valves and they were really stubborn to move at all. The guy at the marine store suggested the straw. The consistency of the sealant is like water so it poured nicely. Of course my wife was frustrated with helping me turn the tubes every 10 minutes.

I have a 10' hypalon with 3 chambers. One bottle of Inland Marine sealant is supposed to be good for up to a 12ft boat. I poured it in equivalent thirds, one third for each chamber and I did not even use the whole bottle. Bixlers Marine sells a "Toob Seal" in smaller 8oz bottles as well and suggests 8oz per chamber. Good luck.

The Toob Seal from Bixler's is best sealant out on the market. It does not become brittle with age.

I'm probably going to do my raft this winter. Needs to be done in the not too distant future. Jamn, I'll recruit someone other than the admiral to help me spin the boat LOL.:p
