tube towing problems

having problem towing mable style tube behind a 20ft suntracker classic party barge with mercury 60 bigfoot 4 stroke.. hooking tow rope harness to the pontoon eyes (top of the pontoons at the back) as dealer said... tube glides on water at slow speeds 1-5mph speeds beyond that tube plows into the water... what to do???????

How long is your rope? The tube should ride just on the back side slope of the rooster tail wake.

Hi Lee, welcome to the forum. I'm quite interested in what your outcome will be. Reason being, I have the same boat with the same motor and plan to buy a tube for this season. Do you have a single, double or triple? Keep us posted.

i have a single person tube... i will try a shorter rope and maybe a sportstuff booster ball...

I've never had any real good luck with the 2 anchor point rope set up. With pontoons or with runabouts. I'm sure the booster ball will help some, I know it could be expensive but for maximum fun factor get a ski bar. Rope stays out of the water and you can "whip" your rider very good:D:D

I have a 94 Tracker it came with a homemade towbar. Look at the pics for ideas.

Friend of mine has the 'Mable' style you've mentioned. Used to nosedive a lot. Found you need to ensure its filled somewhat firm because of the anchor point on the tube tends to drag it down a bit.
