Hi,

Saw an add for a poontoon. Its a 92 24ft playcraft poontoon with 70hp outboard. Says its good for skiing.

My question is would this boat be able to pull tubers? I assume if you can ski you can tube but would it even be fun to tube on this thing if it only has 70hp? I know tritoons would have plenty of hp but they cost a lot.

Yes, Branman does it. He has a 21' with a 70 Yammie on the back...moves out quite well. Pulling a tube is no problem.

we use to pull REAL tubes with a 15 hp on a 14 ft plywood homemade boat.

We do it all the time. No blistering speed mind you but fun.

Any hard turns really sap the HP out of the engine but still fun.

We have two 22' Starcrafts with 75 Merc's. One 2-S and one 4-S. Both pull about the same.
