I want to purchase a tube for next season. How does it attach to the boat? Will a 3 seat tube be too much drag for my boat? I'll be using a 14x11 prop on a 60hp Bigfoot 4 stroke attached to a 20' Sun Tracker Regency. I have a 14x9 prop as well. Will this be better to use? Is a 2 seater a more reasonable choice?

Re: tubing questions

To really have much fun on a tube it needs to be pulled 18-20 mph. I know you won't be able to pull a 3 seater that fast and I really doubt you could pull a 2 seater that fast. My last boat was a 20' with a 60 big foot and I could only run 16 mph with a single rider tube. Not much fun, even for the kids.

Re: tubing questions

I got a ski bar mounted on my 20' Bentley 90 hp mercury. If your going to tube a lot these are great because the tow rope dosen't plow through the water. They sell a "Y" shape rope that attaches to the back of each log then to a singal point so the tube will pull behind the center of the boat.
I bought a big three person tube from Sams Club last year. It dosen't work that well behind the pontoon. It will not "whip" that well, it just tracks behind the boat. But it works great if a parent wants to ride with their small kids. I have a small round one person tube that works great. You can sling riders around pretty good with that one!!:D
