Fyi to those interested in a Hustler prop. I have one on my sig boat now purchased a year and a half ago but dinged it at the end of last season. I ordered a new one on line and was assured my current round Turning Point hub would fit the new Turning Point Prop. Well long story short the prop arrived and Turning Point changed their hub system to a new square design rendering my nearly new hub useless. I left a message for the website to call me to discuss why they sent me a prop requiring a square hub when I previously verified on the phone that the round hub would fit and they amazingly didn't call but overnighted a second identical, square hub prop. I called again and they realized the round hub prop was just discontinued and they had run out of stock. I am now forced to buy a square hub for $40 to fit the new prop and I now have two new props, charged for both plus shipping. Basically the site, not iBoats, isn't interested in making anything right. In any event just know that Turning Point changed their hub design to fit other brands hub requirements completely ignoring the current prop owners.

Thats a shame. You may be able to have your old prop repaired at a prop shop.
Maybe our Hustler owners on here should contact Hustler and let them know they aren't pleased.

Yep this was pretty amazing. I suppose that the prop industry moves faster than the overall boating industry. My issue is that when I spoke to Turning Point, they said there is no improvement with the new hub over the previous. Solely done to allow other brand prop owners with the square hub to be able to slap on a Turning Point prop. The thing about the Hustlers is that at $100 a pop, you can just replace them as opposed to repairing them. If I ever can find a good prop repair shop, I'll just drop off my dinged props and fix em in one swoop.

To close this out then. It seems locally nobody carries Hustler hubs so I took advantage of the fact that the Michigan Wheel and Mercury Marine Flo Torque hub now fit the Hustler but the new Michigan Wheel hub cost me $52 more than I anticipated spendig when buying the prop in the first place. Hustler seems to now have a bad rap amongst the local prop shops I spoke with. Lesson learned with Turning Point Props.

Re: Turning Point Hustler

I bought a Hustler a few years ago and that was my first experience with the "replacement hub" current craze. As I recall, upon ordering my prop I also had to order the correct hub separately and not remembering the details, there was a notice that they had changed their design and I had to ensure that I bought bla bla hub to fit the prop I just purchased. I did and it fit.

Re: Turning Point Hustler

I have a 2007 Tahoe Q6 SF with a 4.3L 190hp merc. Alpha 1. 1.81 gear ratio. My boat with the stock prop, a 14.25 x 21 hit 4800rpm wot and 44mph. I just installed a TurningPoint Hustler 14.25 x 21 prop. With it my max speed was 44mph at 4600 rpm wot. I was really hoping to see more top end. Any suggestions? I also should add i have SmartTabs SX. Had them for both prop readings. Thanks
